One of the world's best orchestras, and certainly one of this country's top five, is the Philadelphia Orchestra. Unfortunately, with subscriptions down and donations low in this economic climate, the future of the historic Philadelphia Orchestra is uncertain. The orchestra may be forced to file for bankruptcy later this month, which could start a chain reaction across the country as many other big-city orchestra succumb to their own financial woes.
